Some Facts on VLDL |
VLDL is nothing but the very-low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and it is one of the three major kinds of lipoproteins. The other two types of cholesterol are low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL). Each type of cholesterol comprises a mixture of cholesterol, triglyceride and protein, but the amount varies from one type to other. HDL has the highest quantity of protein. LDL has the highest quantity of cholesterol and VLDL contains the highest quantity of triglyceride, it is a blood fat. Similar to LDL cholesterol, VLDL cholesterol also considered as bad cholesterol as it is linked with an increased risk of arteriosclerosis or coronary artery disease. |
